Greensboro, NC – We were incredibly honored to host the North Carolina Special Olympics for their annual fundraising event on February 22nd to provide meaningful donations in their support of Special Olympics athletes. This amazing program aims to help improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities and give children and adults opportunities to grow and play, both on and off the field.
To plunge, you only needed to raise $50. However, you were welcome to donate more. Click here to donate and check out any upcoming plunge events!
Recap:
This year's plunge raised nearly $64,000 for Triad Chill and there were a total of 195 plungers at the event! Our very own Wet 'n Wild team members also took part in the event.
Why Special Olympics?
Special Olympics uses the transformative power of sports to improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities, giving children and adults continuing opportunities to experience joy, demonstrate courage, and develop confidence, both on and off the field of play.
Special Olympics athletes are never asked to pay a fee to participate in programming, making fundraising events like this vital. There are nearly 40,000 registered Special Olympics athletes in North Carolina, but there are an estimated 200,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities in the state.
